Triangular PTO Shaft Features:

(1) Dimensions Of Triangular PTO Drive Shaft

The size of the triangular PTO shaft is critical when repairing or replacing a damaged shaft. The PTO axis comes in two different styles: Italian and German. To determine which type you have, look at the shape of the shaft’s outer tube and inner tube. Compare these to the dimensions of the universal joint. When you have these measurements, you can find an alternative PTO component.

(2) Low Friction Coating of Triangular PTO Drive Shaft

Applying a low friction coating to a triangular PTO shaft requires heating the tube shaft to the desired temperature. The low friction material is then attached to tube axis 24. The duration of coating maintenance depends on the material used and the thickness of the coating. There are several ways to apply a low-friction coating.

If possible, remove the cross assembly from the yoke to determine the width and diameter of the bearing cap. Make sure there is at least 6 inches of overlap between the bearing cap and the cross assembly and that the length is 6 inches.

When operating a tractor, it is important to monitor the triangular PTO shaft for excessive wear. Extreme angles can damage the yoke. Retractable tubing can also experience excessive wear, especially in the absence of lubrication. In addition, insufficient lubrication will cause undue pressure on shield bearings. Make sure the shield bearing is lubricated every 8 hours.
